Angel Dry Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning
Encapsulation Process Summary. Encapsulation or “encap” carpet cleaning uses physical contact and very little moisture to remove soil, stains, odors, and contaminants from carpet, rug, and upholstery fibers. The technology has been around since the 1980s and is widely known in the carpet restoration industry as the eco-friendly alternative to steam cleaning.
At Angel Dry, we use the Austrian method, with proprietary Green Seal certified formulations. Our systems clean deeper in the carpet pile with far better results than truck-mount steam cleaning systems.

Encapsulation Cleaning – Residential
Dry Carpet Cleaning Encapsulation Method
As an alternative to steam cleaning (hot water extraction), encapsulation cleaning has become a preferred choice for savvy homeowners. Not only is it safer and residue-free, but it also leaves your carpet feeling cleaner and softer.
Very-Low-Moisture. The big difference is that encapsulation cleaning uses a fraction of moisture compared to steam cleaning. The result — dozens of gallons of water sitting in your carpet, padding, and sub-floor.
Angel Dry technicians can clean 1,000 square feet of carpet with as little as a gallon of water, whereas steam cleaners use around a gallon per minute.
With very-low-moisture carpet cleaning, you’ll never have to worry about the damaging and unhealthy impact of excess moisture throughout your home.
More importantly, at Angel Dry, we strive for excellence on every job. We are more thorough and detail-oriented, ensuring that every fiber of your carpet is exceptionally clean.
Advantages of Encapsulation Carpet Cleaning:
- Dry = No mold, mildew, bacteria, or other microbes
- No wicking = Stains will not reappear from wick-back
- No sticky residue = Healthy, safe, won’t attract soil
- Carpet is cleaner, soft, fluffy, and easier to vacuum
- Safe for family and pets to use carpet during cleaning
- Carpet is ready to enjoy immediately after service
- Low-moisture = Furniture moving is not required
WoolSafe® Encapsulation Rug Cleaning
The Better Way To Clean Rugs
It is a little-known fact that encapsulation rug cleaning often produces better results than immersion washing. Excessive amounts of water and chemicals in the immersion process can cause permanent damage to rug fibers, particularly natural fibers such as wool and silk.
The Angel Dry encapsulation process enables us to remove residues, oils, and soils from rug fibers with very little moisture applied to the rug.
Ten years ago, when Angel Dry was founded, we had a tough time convincing customers to let us clean their rugs with the encapsulation cleaning process. We brought in our odd-looking Austrian machines and we would often get that skeptical look from the homeowner, like “uh, you’re going to clean my $1,500 rug with that?”
The truth is, there is no better way to clean rugs than with encapsulation cleaning. Whether you have a modern rug purchased from a furniture gallery, or an antique hand-knotted wool Qashqai rug, we know how to care for it properly.
Our WoolSafe® approved formulas are safe on all types of synthetic and natural rug fiber constructions — even silk, jute, sisal, and seagrass.
Don’t risk sending your rug to a rug washing plant or asking your local steam cleaning company to care for your rug. Let Angel Dry come to your home and you will be amazed at the results.
With our very-low-moisture rug cleaning system, we can even clean your rugs right on top of your wood floors, with all the furniture in place! We also offer a pick-up and delivery service, or you can drop off your rug at our location in Carrolton.
The Smart Way to Clean Office Carpet
In recent years, encapsulation carpet cleaning for commercial interiors has become the trusted choice for office managers and building maintenance professionals.
Great results. No downtime. No wet carpet!
Portable carpet cleaning machines leave behind massive amounts of moisture and chemicals that create residue build-up and unsanitary conditions. Very-low-moisture technologies enable building owners and tenants to have carpets cleaned during office hours.
And with commercial dry carpet cleaning methods, there is no risk of developing mold, mildew, dust mites, and other harmful exposure to chemical contaminants.
During the cleaning process, carpet is relatively safe to walk on, as the carpet is typically dry in around thirty minutes. When we clean offices during occupancy, there is no chemical odor and no VOCs. Every product that we use on the carpet is non-toxic.
We place safety “slippery when wet” signage out in recently cleaned areas, until that section of the carpeted area is dry and safe to walk on. This ensures that all personnel has access to most areas of the building during the process.
When arriving at an employee’s cubicle or office in order to clean it, it usually takes us around 5-10 minutes (a short break) before they can get back to their work area.
Encapsulation cleaning works exceptionally well on all types of commercial carpet and carpet tiles, typically low-level-loop and low-cut pile carpet. And while we’re in the office, we can dry clean rugs and upholstery too.
Our baby safe very-low-moisture systems provide our customers with the convenience of carpet, rug, and upholstery cleaning services without the hassle of having a substantial part of their floors hosed down with dozens of gallons of water, toxic chemicals, and sticky residue.
Many already know that wet carpet is an ideal breeding ground for moisture-loving microbes, including mildew, fungi, bacteria, and dust mites. They know too well how damaging excess moisture can be to an interior environment.
Today, carpet cleaning and restoration companies are offering safer methods of cleaning, yet traditional truck-mount cleaning services still reign as the industry leader. Often, these companies can clean faster, but that comes with a cost.
They work faster with:
- The use of harsh chemicals,
- Releasing up to 50 gallons of water in your carpet,
- and using suction to vacuum as much liquid as they can capture.
Much of this liquid will sink to the bottom of the carpet backing, carpet pad, and even onto the sub-floor.
If you smell ammonia or solvents while the technician is steam cleaning a room down the hall, you’ll know that you’re working with a traditional steam cleaning system – still the most common method in the carpet cleaning and restoration industry.
After a steam cleaning service, you may find that stains “wick back”, reappearing on the carpet surface after several days, or even weeks, after being treated. This is due to the process of deep-down moisture evaporation that happens after a steam cleaning.
Additionally, excessive amounts of moisture will break down carpet underlayment and hot water can permanently damage the integral structure of your carpet backing.
But that’s not all.
Homes are simply healthier when surfaces are dry. You wouldn’t leave a bunch of wet clothes, no matter how clean they were, to dry on your carpet. You’d surely notice a change in the texture and smell of the clothes as they dried.
Microbial life such as bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, and dust mites thrive in wet carpet. It is an ideal habitat for all kinds of gross little critters. And these invisible lifeforms reproduce quickly in wet environments, leaving behind a biological film (microbial waste and residue) on your soft surfaces. This causes noticeable odors, and it creates food for other microbes and insects, and can even cause minor or significant changes in the fiber’s texture.
Try leaving your “clean” and well-wrung-out clothes in the washing machine for a couple of hours after the final spin cycle, and you will know exactly how fast microorganisms reproduce in wet, clean fibers. Even thoroughly washing-machine cleaned clothes are subject to a microbial invasion.
These same concepts are true for steam cleaned carpet.
It’s not the water that makes fibers and fabrics clean – it’s the removal of soil particles that does it. In fact, excessive moisture is the most sure-fire way to create unsanitary conditions in fibers and fabrics. This is especially true for carpet with wet foam padding underneath.
For these reasons, Angel Dry uses a completely different – and far more effective – method of cleaning. It isn’t enough, by our standards, for you to have carpet and furniture that temporarily looks clean. If you paid for cleaning, then that is quite literally what you should get: clean fabric that is safe for your family and the environment.
