Portable carpet cleaning machines leave behind massive amounts of moisture and chemicals that create residue build-up and unsanitary conditions. Very-low-moisture technologies enable building owners and tenants to have carpets cleaned during office hours.

During the cleaning process, carpet is relatively safe to walk on, as the carpet is typically dry in around thirty minutes. When we clean offices during occupancy, there is no chemical odor and no VOCs. Every product that we use on the carpet is non-toxic.
We place safety “slippery when wet” signage out in recently cleaned areas, until that section of the carpeted area is dry and safe to walk on. This ensures that all personnel has access to most areas of the building during the process.

Many already know that wet carpet is an ideal breeding ground for moisture-loving microbes, including mildew, fungi, bacteria, and dust mites. They know too well how damaging excess moisture can be to an interior environment.
Today, carpet cleaning and restoration companies are offering safer methods of cleaning, yet traditional truck-mount cleaning services still reign as the industry leader. Often, these companies can clean faster, but that comes with a cost.
They work faster with:
- The use of harsh chemicals,
- Releasing up to 50 gallons of water in your carpet,
- and using suction to vacuum as much liquid as they can capture.
Much of this liquid will sink to the bottom of the carpet backing, carpet pad, and even onto the sub-floor.

After a steam cleaning service, you may find that stains “wick back”, reappearing on the carpet surface after several days, or even weeks, after being treated. This is due to the process of deep-down moisture evaporation that happens after a steam cleaning.
Additionally, excessive amounts of moisture will break down carpet underlayment and hot water can permanently damage the integral structure of your carpet backing.
But that’s not all.
Homes are simply healthier when surfaces are dry. You wouldn’t leave a bunch of wet clothes, no matter how clean they were, to dry on your carpet. You’d surely notice a change in the texture and smell of the clothes as they dried.
Microbial life such as bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, and dust mites thrive in wet carpet. It is an ideal habitat for all kinds of gross little critters. And these invisible lifeforms reproduce quickly in wet environments, leaving behind a biological film (microbial waste and residue) on your soft surfaces. This causes noticeable odors, and it creates food for other microbes and insects, and can even cause minor or significant changes in the fiber’s texture.
Try leaving your “clean” and well-wrung-out clothes in the washing machine for a couple of hours after the final spin cycle, and you will know exactly how fast microorganisms reproduce in wet, clean fibers. Even thoroughly washing-machine cleaned clothes are subject to a microbial invasion.
These same concepts are true for steam cleaned carpet.
It’s not the water that makes fibers and fabrics clean – it’s the removal of soil particles that does it. In fact, excessive moisture is the most sure-fire way to create unsanitary conditions in fibers and fabrics. This is especially true for carpet with wet foam padding underneath.
For these reasons, Angel Dry uses a completely different – and far more effective – method of cleaning. It isn’t enough, by our standards, for you to have carpet and furniture that temporarily looks clean. If you paid for cleaning, then that is quite literally what you should get: clean fabric that is safe for your family and the environment.
